When I first received my copy of Erwin McManus’ Unleashed: Release the Untamed Faith Within, I could not help but wonder what I was getting myself into. One truly cannot judge this book by its cover for it is deceiving to its message within. Though Unleashed is a fairly short book, it offers great words of wisdom throughout its entirety. Erwin McManus has this idea of being barbaric with not just religion, but in one’s faith. He discusses how Jesus Christ demands this way of living in His word, the Holy Bible. As the reader, one clearly sees McManus’ desire of being barbaric of his faith in Jesus Christ. He approaches Unleashed head on, leaving no room for breathe for the reader. Unleashed is composed with a direct harsh-bluntness directed to the reader, yet there is no other way I see that McManus could have expressed his concerns of this issue in today's time. His style of expression is absolute perfect example of what Unleashed is all about. He directs attention to how spontaneity Jesus wants our faith to be, reminding the reader that it isn’t about them, but God. I am thankful to have been lucky enough to have read McManus' passion filled wisdom and highly recommend it to anyone who is without faith, struggling with faith, or have plateaued with one’s faith.
